FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Many instructors charge hourly, which unintentionally rewards slower progress. Training becomes “more valuable” the longer it takes. In that model, efficient instruction can actually punish the instructor for doing a great job and getting you through your rating quickly.
A flat rate sets the value of the training upfront. It aligns our incentives so we’re both working toward the same goal: high-quality, efficient, real-world training. I’m motivated to deliver as much value as possible, as clearly and effectively as possible, in the shortest reasonable time.
This structure also allows me to include ground instruction, briefings, debriefs, and support outside the airplane without watching the clock. The focus stays where it should be: building skill, confidence, and competence; not stretching hours.
No. I am an independent flight instructor, not a flight school. I am compensated only for the flight training and instruction I personally provide toward your pilot certificate or rating.
Yes and no. There are two options for the aircraft we train in.
Option 1: You provide the aircraft.
You may train in your own airplane or one you already have access to, as long as it’s properly equipped and airworthy for the type of training we’re doing.
Option 2: Aircraft rental through partner owners.
I partner with a small group of aircraft owners who make well-maintained, high-quality training aircraft available for rent. These airplanes are well-suited for both primary and advanced training and are a great option if you don’t own an aircraft.
My local service airports are Boise Air Terminal/Gowen Field (KBOI), Nampa Municipal Airport (KMAN), Caldwell Executive Airport (KEUL). If you are hoping to train at an airport outside of these please message me about it!
A minimum availability of three lessons per week is required. 14 weeks for Private Pilot training and 6 weeks for Instrument training.
I can provide training in any FAA registered single engine land, fixed gear aircraft.
If you are able to act as Pilot in Command of your aircraft, no additional action is required. If not, I must either be added as a named insured on your insurance policy or be provided a waiver of subrogation from your insurer.
I accept cash, check, Zelle, and Venmo.
For Private Pilot and Instrument courses, payment may be made in three installments:
• One-third due at enrollment to secure your training slot
• One-third due at the midpoint of training
• The remaining balance due upon completion
For training conducted on an hourly basis, payment is $75 per hour, due at the conclusion of each lesson.
